In the midst of the tinsel and tape, in the middle of the detritus and chaos of the day— pause and give thanks to God for His most precious Gift, who calls to us each day. Always recall that God is with us in each and every moment and He is waiting for you in the crowds and the solitude. Wherever you find yourself this year, He is with you and loves you just as you are. Merry Christmas to you and your families.
With all of the Christmas preparations that await our attention, pause for a moment to ponder the miracle that is the birth of Christ. God is not remote, removed, disinterested. He is so passionately in love with us, so interested in our attention, that He went to great lengths to reveal Himself to us.
Interestingly, He reveals Himself most readily in silence. Recently, I was struck by the magnificence and splendor found in silence.
I loved art class in elementary school, didn’t you? Not that I was ever very talented, but I love the process of creating. My mother gave me a watercolor brush a while ago and it makes the process easy and clean. You fill the base of the pen with water, dip the brush in the paint, and get to work.
So, for the second week of Advent, I created this little gift for you.
