Trust in Jesus

Mixed in with the joy of little things that happen each day, there are difficult challenges are sprinkled in as well.  In my life and the lives of the ones that I love there are many diagnoses and challenges we don't choose, hard conversations, struggling spouses and wandering children that are hard to wrestle back into the fold. I am certain that you face similar situations as well. There is a choice with each setback and roadblock-- we can elect to be sidelined by our emotions or we can remain engaged fortified by the Holy Spirit.

A prayer that I happened upon during Advent brings me much peace in the turbulence. I hope that it will do the same for you.  This prayer, or Litany, has a set of petitions and a common refrain. It begins by asking Jesus to deliver me from a series of mindsets that prevent me from fully trusting Jesus. The prayer shifts to a series of statements that remind me that I am never alone and that Jesus loves and remains with me despite how I feel.

As we journey through Lent and are facing the stark reminder of the enormity of the sacrificial love of Christ, now is a wonderful time to place our trust even more squarely in Him alone. Print multiple copies of this Litany of Trust and share it with anyone you know who needs to be reminded of the unfailing love of Jesus.
